Iam currently in 7th grade and getting A's and B+'s i am also doing wrestling for my school and it has been my life long dream to go to the naval academy and become a naval aviator am i doing the minimum to get in.
I was recently accepted to the Naval Academy and will be starting there July 1. Your grades sound like you're all set, but try to bring the B+'s up, I only have/had 3 B's on my transcript. A huge thing for any of the service academies though is leadership. If you do wrestling, go for captain. They love that. Also, if you have any free time between the time you enter high school and the day you get accepted, you're doing something wrong. You really need to cram as much stuff as you can into your 4 years of high school (do as many sports as you can, try and start and/or lead some clubs also). The 3 things the Academies look for are excellence in academics, athletics, and leadership. It sounds like you're on the right path though. Good luck and Go Navy! Beat Army!
futurenavalaviator96, i graduated almost 20 yrs ago, and have spent my career flying jets off carriers. if you are worried about "the minimum to get in" you need to reconsider your chosen profession, young man. it was super-competitive 20 yrs ago, and it is 20x more competitive now. you have to shift your mindset to "what is the maximum i can do" and then do 10% more. the minimum is for black shoes and usaf. bat21bravo is close, but you need to EXCEL at academics, athletics, and leadership. all officers are leaders first and aviators/shipdrivers/etc second. work hard, be smart, stay clean, and best of luck chasing that dream! it is worth the effort! Naval Aviation is the greatest job in the world, no exceptions!
